Smart Italy and IPlanet join forces for electric mobility

• IPlanet becomes the new Events Preferred Charging Partner of Smart Italy
• The partnership includes EV charging support at all official Smart events

03.04.25, Rome, Italy – smart Italy has announced a strategic collaboration with IPlanet, a joint venture between IP and Macquarie Capital EV Asset Holding, created to electrify Italy’s refuelling infrastructure. IPlanet will become smart Italy’s Events Preferred Charging Partner throughout 2025.

As part of the agreement, IPlanet will provide EV charging support at smart-branded events across the country. The partnership also includes dedicated tools, such as RFID cards and informational materials, to make charging easier for staff and guests involved in each event.

As smart’s official energy partner for events, IPlanet will be present throughout a busy calendar of cultural, lifestyle and innovation-focused initiatives, including Milano Design Week, the Turin International Book Fair, and other experiential events aimed at communities and the media.

This collaboration is rooted in a shared vision: making electric mobility increasingly accessible, smart and integrated. The two companies also plan to explore future joint pilot projects, including advanced charging solutions like Plug & Charge.

As a testament to the partnership, IPlanet has recently chosen smart for its own company fleet, purchasing fully electric smart vehicles.
